After stroll around the Old Madrid of the Habsburgs, nothing better than relaxing time in one of the terraces in the Plaza de Oriente, for a drink, or to have something to eat.
In the Plaza de Oriente and around the Royal Theatre and overlooking the Royal Palace, you can enjoy cozy local bars and restaurants, which have their terraces open virtually all year.
The best known, and most traditional terrace, is the Café de Oriente, where in addition to its large terrace, inside it has a friendly atmosphere with a romantic decor with touches of neo-Baroque, along with its excellent restaurant.
Also opposite to one of the entrances to the Royal Theatre, there are other pleasant terraces, where you can enjoy tapas or a dish of traditional cuisine at La Taberna del Alabardero, or a seafood restaurant La Mar del Albardero.
A few meters from the gardens of the Plaza de Oriente, on both sides of the Royal Theatre, you may find places for a younger audience and budget, with franchises offering beer and snacks.Tags:madrid, orient plaza, palacio real, plaza de oriente, royal palace, spain, terrace bars, travel
